Events at Main
Join us for this monthly book club where we discuss books that have been banned or have been requested to be removed from public libraries or school libraries. This month's book is The Giver by Lois Lowry.
Storytime for children ages 2½- 3½, with an adult. Activities include stories, a craft, and time to play with toys at the end of the program.
Join us for the next exciting video game tournament! Compete in GranBlue Fantasy Versus, the hit fighting game from the creators of Dragon Ball FighterZ. Registration required.
Do you enjoy trying new foods? Do you like trying new things and discussing them with others?
Children ages 5-12 will work together on a STEAM activity and socialize with other kids their age. Parents must remain in the library. Registration required.
Storytime for children ages 3-5. Stories, fingerplays, songs and a craft or activity.

A self service fax machine is located on the first floor of the New Britain Public Library.

Home Delivery
Home Delivery Service is specifically designed for New Britain residents who are temporarily or permanently unable to visit the library due to health or mobility issues.

Makerspace
The Makerspace is a creative hub where individuals come together to craft, invent, and explore. Whether you're interested in traditional crafts or cutting-edge technology, our space is equipped with a wide variety of tools and materials to help you create, learn, and experiment. Join us to develop new skills, share your ideas, and bring your projects to life.
Meeting Rooms
Our Main Library's Community Room is available for nonprofit and community member use. The Hawley Room, also at the Main Library, is open to organizations/groups who work with children. Both rooms are booked through the Library website.
Printing & Copying
Printing is available for public use at the New Britain Public Library.
Copies are:
- 15 cents/per page for Black & White
- 25 cents/per page for Color
Wireless printing is available through Princh using the code 108344.
Public Computers
The Library provides free public computer access.
Scanning
Out flatbed scanner allows for documents and photos up to 11x17 to be scanned and saved to a USB, sent to an email address, saved to a google drive, or saved to a mobile device (using a QR code).
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the library. Users can connect by selecting the "NBPL- Public" network.
