Children’s Library at Main
The Children’s Department is a welcoming and inclusive environment where families can read, explore, play and grow together. Come browse our collection of books, movies and music for children, parents and educators.
We offer programming for children from 0-12 years, including storytimes, crafts and special performances. Computers, toys, CD players and more are also available. Check out passes for free or reduced admission to local museums and other attractions.
Children’s Library at Jefferson
Come explore the Jefferson Branch Library children’s area! We offer a play space for children to learn together with different toys and games. We also have tables and comfortable seating available for parents. We hope to foster a love of reading with all of our younger patrons.
Events for Kids
Storytime for children ages 2½- 3½, with an adult. Activities include stories, a craft, and time to play with toys at the end of the program.
Children ages 5-12 will work together on a STEAM activity and socialize with other kids their age. Parents must remain in the library. Registration required.
Storytime for children ages 3-5. Stories, fingerplays, songs and a craft or activity.
No registration required.

The Ultimate Guide to the World! This is a great resource for anyone who is doing research on a country. This will provide historic, cultural, geographical, etc. information.
Mango Language Learning
Mango offers access to 70 foreign language courses and 20 English courses taught completely in the user’s native language. Mango is available at the Main Library and at the Jefferson Branch.
ResearchIT CT
This state-wide resource is available in the library as well as at home (will need a public library card to access from home). There are a variety of online magazines, newspapers, and journals where you can download full text articles.
Makerspace
The Makerspace is a creative hub where individuals come together to craft, invent, and explore. Whether you're interested in traditional crafts or cutting-edge technology, our space is equipped with a wide variety of tools and materials to help you create, learn, and experiment. Join us to develop new skills, share your ideas, and bring your projects to life.
