Community Reads: Celebrate Latino Poetry!

Join us for a celebration of Latin Poetry! The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with treats from Borinquen Bakery, followed by a performance from Orquesta la Yunqueña, New England’s premier Salsa band, at 5:00 p.m. and culminating in a poetry reading and author discussion with Urayoán Noel, writer, translator, and performer from Puerto Rico. He will be reading select poems from Latino Poetry: The Library of America Anthology, edited by Rigoberto Gonzáles. Copies of the books will be available at the library's Check Out Desk, and participants are encouraged to read the poems in advance so that they may discuss and share their thoughts and reflections. The event will be moderated by Natalie Catasús and Julien Strong from CCSU English Department.
